The Galactus event was Fortnite’s biggest to date

The end-of-season live event that just took place in Fortnite was the biggest game to date, Epic Games confirmed. The Galactus event, which concluded FortniteThe current Marvel-themed season had a record 15.3 million concurrent players, the company said in a Tweeter.

That beats April’s Travis Scott concert, which peaked at 12.3 million contestants when it first aired. The record before that was the Marshmello show, which reached 10.7 million. Epic says 3.4 million people also watched the Galactus event on Twitch and YouTube. The event saw players team up to stop Marvel’s supervillain from destroying Fortnitethe island by piloting a combat bus loaded with explosives to feed him.

Fortnite is currently on hold as Epic prepares to launch Season 5. Anyone starting the game right now will see a countdown to the next season – it’s currently set at just under six hours.
