The Galaxy Fold is now available for purchase in the United States – TechCrunch

This is surely the moment expected by some loyal fans. And that is understandable. The Galaxy Fold is, in every way, an exciting phone. This is the kind of bold courage that has allowed Samsung to stand out from the competition. Many of us have also laughed at the Galaxy Note, and yet here we are, with bigger phones in all areas.

Five months after the originally scheduled date, the Galaxy Fold is on sale today in the United States. The handset of course has its share of problems. The first round encountered problems from several reviewers for a variety of reasons. And as I pointed out yesterday, I have encountered my own problems with the enhanced handset version.

Even in its current version, the Galaxy Fold is a fragile thing. This is something that Samsung has been extremely cautious to disclose, through a video pleading for "just using a light touch" and a large amount of paper that comes with the device. I will give more thoughts on my product schedule in a future article. In the meantime, however, anyone thinking of spending $ 2,000 or more should consider this in the equation.

But this is a phone, not a faberge egg. It will be interesting to see how a wider availability is played out. The launch still suggests that this is a kind of beta phase on a larger scale. It would be foolish to suggest that the collapsible product category will live or die by this launch, but it will surely be the version of the most watched device in recent memory.

The Galaxy Watch Active 2 is also available today. If you wear this device as well. More on that soon, but until here, everything is fine.
