Over the years, we have seen a plethora of collectible card games come and go. While one thing has remained constant, the genre lends itself well to mobile gaming. To this day, there is still no shortage of CCGs on the Play Store, and yet there was still one title missing, Magic: The Gathering. Well, Wizards of the Coast has been working on its digital adaptation for quite some time, and it’s called MTG Arena. We knew the title would eventually hit mobile, but we just learned that the CGC is coming to Android as an early access release on January 28, with wider support slated for later this year.

Wizards of the Coast recently posted a blog post on the official MTG Arena website to announce that the game will finally be available on Android later this month (January 28). It will exist as an Early Access version for a selection of supported Android devices. These devices will need to be on Android 6.0 or later, contain at least 4 GB of RAM, while supporting OpenGL ES 3.0 or higher. So far, we know that devices with anything on top of the Kirin 970, Snapdragon 845, or Exynos 9810 processors should be able to run the title. And if you’re looking for a shortlist of recommended phones, Wizards has put together a modest list, which you can find below.

Sadly, that’s all the information Wizards has to share on the subject so far, although more details will be offered during Wizards’ January State of the Game, which should ideally drop soon (December landed on 7). So there you have it. MTG Arena will be available as an Early Access title on Android later this month, and more information about that release should be available soon.

Magic: The Gathering Arena is now available on Android

Earlier this month, we learned that Magic: The Gathering Arena is coming to Android as an Early Access release on January 28, which is today. Lo and behold, Wizards of the Coast has kept its promise, and so the game is already live.

This is a large download, with a frame rate of 1.96 GB, and then there is more to download once you open the game, resulting in a total file size of 4.3 GB. you therefore have enough space before installing this version.

Those who already have accounts for the game can log in and pick up where they left off, but you can also create a new account when you start this title, which you will need to do if you want to play since you are forced to have an account. As expected, the game is free to play and in-app purchases are offered, up to $ 19.99 per item.
