Aaron Rodgers tossing from the pocket: In Green Bay’s opener against New Orleans, Rodgers was nervous inside the pocket and tried to extend plays with his legs far too often. It was a different story against Detroit. Rodgers made several inside-pocket shots, best evidenced by his touchdown pass to Robert Tonyan. According to PFF, Rodgers was 19 of 20 for 212 yards with a passer rating of 150.4 in a clean pocket. His four touchdowns also came from inside the pocket. When Rodgers trusts his offensive line to give him time, he is able to throw net shots with near perfect accuracy.
Matt LaFleur using Aaron Jones: The Packers offense escaped their rushed attack in Week 1, a game where Jones saw just five runs. Against the Lions, Jones was the focal point of the offense, totaling 115 yards of scrum and four touchdowns on 23 touches. When the Packers offense passes through Jones, it becomes incredibly difficult on the defenses, especially against the playing action.
Promising Eric Stokes: While a communication glitch was responsible for the Lions’ second touchdown, the rookie first-rounder made a name for himself by producing two assists later in the game. Both SEBs placed fourth, forcing a turnover on the downs for the Lions offense. Stokes played on 44 snaps, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see him even more involved next week against the 49ers.
