The Grand Tour will remain in the UK for its next special due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May were forced to stay in the UK for their latest episode of Amazon Prime Video, as they roamed across Scotland.
The trio and their producer Andy Wilman immediately got down to work on a follow-up, with Wilman now confirming that another special will be held in Wales to “spin the wheels for a while” (via Radio time).
the Grand Tour The producer admitted that planning the shoot for fall and early next year is now getting complicated as travel restrictions are frequently revised by the UK government.
“It’s one of the big nightmares that it is. We chose a country, I won’t say which one we chose, but we were working on a story in a country that was an amber country, so we could have been there. go, and then it turned red just a few days ago, so let’s get back to the drawing board, ”he said.
“It’s very tricky right now to be able to say that because we need three or four months to set up a big job overseas and it’s not really good for us to plan and spend hundreds. and thousands of pounds to set up all these fields, and then all of a sudden somebody says, “Well, we can’t go now,” so we’re having some difficulty. “
For now, a July 30 special on Prime Video will feature the guys challenging each other in a race from Edinburgh to the Outer Hebrides using only American cars.
There are no official details yet on what the Wales stage will involve, and there has been no confirmation of what is in the plans for The Grand Tour beyond this year.
The Grand Tour will present ‘Lochdown’ on Friday July 30 on Amazon Prime Video.
