MTV and Sean "Diddy" Combs bring reality TV competition back to reality Make the group, a decade after the last episode of the first iteration broadcast. Combs confirmed that the show would return after the interest shown by the music mogul for a rebirth on Twitter. On Monday, Combs said it "had made my decision" to revive the show.
"MTV and I are together again!" Combs says, notes The Hollywood Reporter. "Make the group is bigger, bolder and sharper. ATV on MTV was the pioneer of reality TV. We will bring this supernatural energy back to the format and bring the world, it is [sic] next global superstars. "
Meet the group debuted on ABC in 2000, but moved to MTV early in its second season. The show lasted 12 seasons until 2009 and involved a group of musicians hoping to become members of a successful band. Diddy joined the show in 2002 to Make group 2 to decide who would finally join the group.
The bands in the original series include Donnie Klang, Day26, Danity Kane and Da Band.
In 2009, Diddy played in a short-lived spin-off called Make her band.
