An armed robber thought he had easy prey late at night at a gas station in Oakland Park on Sunday. Instead, he and his fugitive driver found four people from Indiana who were not about to give cash or take any nonsense.

They did, however, take the robber's gun during a 40-second fight at the Mobil Gas Station at 901 W. Oakland Park Blvd. And Alex Wisbey and Aric Wisbey and their cousins, Aric Tanoos and Jacob Tanoos, have lived to end their holidays.

They also took "079 MLZ", the license plate of the black Hyundai. This video and surveillance video led police in Fort Lauderdale to 33-year-old Kevin Campbell. He is accused of armed robbery, fictitious identity for the police and resistance to arrest without violence. His deposit is $ 10,100.

According to an affidavit relating to his arrest, Campbell admitted to being the driver of the vehicle, but allegedly did not know that the passenger "C.J." was armed or was planning a robbery.

The Broward sheriff's office said that Judge J. was on the run.

The monitoring video of the gas station shows Alex Wisbey, Aric Tanoos and Jacob Tanoos standing between their Volkswagen and the gas pump at 3:35 am Sunday, when a black Hyundai pulls a few pumps. A stout man in striped shirt leaves the passenger side and heads to the three natives of Terre Haute, Indiana, with a 9 mm Taurus rifle in his left hand.

The affidavit says that the shooter ordered: "Give me everything you have!

So, they did it.

Jacob Tanoos, who lives in Fort Lauderdale, tried to overtake the shooter, but was restrained by one arm. Meanwhile, Aric Tanoos started looking for his weapon. The thief whipped Aric Tanoos to the ground and to the ground. But before the shooter could do anything else, Alex Wisbey grabbed him from behind. With the help of Aric Tanoos, Alex Wisbey forced the thief to collapse on the ground, while he was under the heavy criminal.

"When I noticed the gun, it was automatically the fighting mode," said Alex Wisbey at a press conference held Tuesday. "I would not let my family hurt at any time. I understood what could have happened when I approached the shooter and took it from behind. I knew that it was possible for me to be shot. I knew it. It's my family. We are dying for each other.

At this point, Aric Wisbey was out of the back of the Volkswagen. He tried to rid his brother of the shooter while Aric Tanoos pounded the upper back and thief's head.

It was at this point that a shirtless Campbell got out of his car and toppled Aric Tanoos from the thief. For a few seconds, a two-to-two fight rolled around the concrete before Campbell and Alex Wisbey stepped aside. The shooter had lost his weapon.

After Alex Wisbey freed himself from Campbell, he climbed and retreated in anticipation of Campbell's charge. Campbell approached without using his arms – both were busy keeping his pants off the ground and tripping him.

Before Campbell could find a way to reach the double objective – to hold his pants and fight Alex Wisbey – he realized that Aric Wisbey had seized the thief's weapon. Campbell and the shooter retreated into their car while Aric Wisbey held the gun against them.

According to the arrest report, the weapon would have been stolen in a car burglary in 2017.
