Alfred Jackson, the half-brother of the music icon Prince and heir to his estate, is dead, announced Thursday the younger sister of the star. He was 66 years old.
Tyka Nelson, Jackson's half-sister, wrote on Facebook that "this morning, my beloved brother, Alfred, has passed away … Thank you for respecting our privacy at that time and we are so kind to him both. "
TMZ, who announced Jackson's death for the first time, said he died at his home in Kansas City and his brother, Bruce Jackson, was unresponsive at around 10:30 am
The police have found no signs of foul play and believe that Jackson died of natural causes, according to the gossip website.
Jackson, who was an Air Force Veteran and lived in an apartment in Virginia for several years before Prince's death in April 2016, used the money from his legacy to buy a home.
Jackson and Prince have the same mother, Mattie Shaw.
In a moving interview with Entertainment Tonight after Prince's death, Jackson admitted that he had not spoken to the crooner "Kiss" for more than 15 years, but that he still loved his brother and had always followed him his career.
"I miss my brother because my brother was everything to me," lamented Jackson. "God bless Prince, may God bless the world. He is a legend, he really is. "

Prince died on April 21, 2016 at the age of 57 following an accidental overdose of fentanyl, according to the Toxicology Report. The report also indicated that the fentanyl concentration in Prince's liver was 450 micrograms per kilogram and noted that liver concentrations greater than 69 micrograms per kilogram "appeared to represent overdose or lethal toxicity".
The Prince Estate representatives did not immediately respond to Fox News's request for comment.
