The Handmaid’s Tale boss says Elisabeth Moss will pick end date

The Handmaid’s Tale showrunner said Elisabeth Moss will decide on the end of the series.

The dystopian drama will begin its fourth season in April after a series of production delays linked to coronaviruses.

In December, it was confirmed that the Hulu show would return for season 5 following the successful publication of Margaret Atwood’s The Handmaid’s Tale after Wills in 2019.

And, speaking recently, showrunner Bruce Miller said the TV series will “continue” as long as Elisabeth Moss remains involved.

“As long as Lizzie does this with me, I will continue,” he said. Deadline. “There is a lot of life in this story. I am certainly fascinated by what is going on in Wills and if that is part of our future, it is a bigger question. “

Wills follows the adventures of Offred’s daughters and confirms the survival of Aunt Lydia (Ann Dowd) and Offred (Moss) for several years after their Servant arc, which means the show could hypothetically go on for years.

The sequel has already been signed by MGM Television and Hulu for a TV adaptation, with Miller and others still deciding how to fit it into the existing one. Servant universe.

It could be a standalone series and not feature any of the existing elements Servant cast members at all.

Speaking previously, Miller said the coronavirus pandemic had caused him to “re-evaluate” the longevity of The Handmaid’s Tale beyond Season 5, though his recent comments suggest he’s changed his mind.

The Handmaid’s Tale season 4 also adds The Haunting of Hill House and Ghostbusters: the afterlife actress McKenna Grace as the teenage wife of a much older commander.
