The Hispanic moderator takes it to Biden on immigration

Joe Biden was the subject of intense questions from the Latin American moderator, Jorge Ramos, during the Democratic debate Thursday night in Houston.

Citing the shootings fired in August in El Paso, Texas, which allegedly targeted Latin American immigrants and that Ramos described as "the deadliest massacre of Latinos in modern American history," the moderator sent to Biden a series of questions relating to immigration.

"You have supported the Wall of Borders," he began, citing the immigration policies of former President Obama.

By further criticizing the collective immigration views held jointly by Obama and Biden during their tenure, Ramos pointed out that the Obama presidency was responsible for eliminating more of the US's immigrants than any other presidency in history.

"You served as vice president in an administration that deported 3 million people, the highest number in the history of the United States," Ramos said. "Have you done anything to prevent these deportations?"

Before allowing Biden to answer, Ramos continued his accusations of unfair treatment of immigrants under the Obama administration and previously avoided Biden from answering the question.

"You have already been asked this question and you have refused to answer, so let me try again," said Ramos. "Are you ready to say tonight that President Obama and you have made a mistake in deportation, why should Latinos trust you?"

Biden is defended by claiming that the Obama administration is unique in relation to the Trump administration in that it has not "locked up people in cages".
