The Jaguar XE 2020 adds technology to its models

For the Jaguar XE 2020 sports sedan, less is no longer, at least as far as powertrain supply and trim levels are concerned. But the new slimmer range adopts additional technical features, and the model also sees design changes both inside and out.

The diesel engine and 3.0 liter V6 were tested. The basic engine is the Inline-Inline-four turbocharged 2.0-liter and 247 horsepower. It is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and can be used with rear-wheel drive or AWD. The new model of this basic engine is P250, against 25 t previously.

The starter motor is the 296 HP version of the Ingenium 2.0 liter. The cars thus equipped carry a new badge P300, instead of the previous 30t. The all-wheel drive is now standard with the 296-hp engine, and Jaguar claims a zero-to-60-mph time of 5.4 seconds for this powertrain.

The exterior design includes new front and rear bumpers, a remodeled rear valance, and new LED headlights and taillights. A wider grille with a lattice mesh is supposed to visually bring the XE closer to the I-Pace EV.

The previous trim levels (Premium, Prestige, R-Sport, S, Portfolio and Landmark) were two: S and R-Dynamic S. The InControl Touch Pro Duo infotainment system from Jaguar Land Rover, which just uses a second screen for climate control, flanked by two large buttons that can perform different functions (temperature, fan speed and heating / cooling the seat). The new reversing camera mirror eliminates blind spots and wireless charging has been added to the center console.

Jaguar has also abandoned the rotary selector in favor of the gun-type selector found in Type F and elsewhere, while surrounding it with various controls, including a toggle switch to switch between the different modes driving the car. A stronger flywheel includes capacitive switches. The newly designed seats, made of standard leather, are supposed to be more comfortable, while the redesigned door panels incorporate wider, softer armrests as well as increased storage capacity.

The base price rises from $ 37,990 for the former 20t rear-wheel drive to $ 40,895 (including destination) for the new P250. The AWD P250 costs $ 42,894 while the P300 costs $ 47,290. The Jaguar XE 2020 is on sale now.
