After the end of Avery Williamson's knee injury season, the New York Jets hired linebacker Albert McClellan.
Albert McClellan is a 33-year-old linebacker, 6'2 ", weighing 235 pounds, from Marshall University. McClellan was originally signed as a non-freestyle Baltimore Ravens free player in 2010. McClellan spent the first year of his NFL career in the Ravens' training squad before to be in the 53-man squad in 2011. He became a Ravens linebacker in 2012, but lost his starting position by 2013. Mr. McClellan was a linebacker and NFL team player .
McClellan tore his anterior cruciate ligament and missed the entire 2017 season before returning briefly with the Ravens in 2018. The Ravens cut McClellan in the middle of the 2018 season and the New England Patriots signed it. McClellan has played the last 7 games of his 2018 season with the New England Patriots as a Special Team Specialist.
Albert McClellan has been recognized as one of the best special teams players throughout his career in the NFL. In 2014 and 2018, he won the first PFF All Pro team award for his work on the special teams. McClellan is unlikely to replace Avery Williamson as coach at linebackers. However, he can provide decent insurance as a backup and he should upgrade the special teams units when he trains the team.
