NEW YORK – Thursday night, the Jets officially unveiled their new uniforms, during a noisy event in downtown Manhattan.

It was a highly anticipated moment for many Jets fans, who were trying to find a positive change for their starving organization as new coach Adam Gase arrived.
Gotham Green, Flagship White and Stealth Black are Jets' new colors, said team president Neil Glat.
"New York" will be stitched on the chest of the uniform, said Jets President Christopher Johnson.
"If we do not play well, the uniforms will not look great," said Jets quarterback Sam Darnold on stage.
(On Wednesday, photos of the so-called new uniforms were leaked, but fans of the Jets were eager to get to Thursday's event.)
The Jets have not reached the playoffs since 2010. They have already fired two coaches: Rex Ryan after the 2014 season and Todd Bowles after last season.
It seems that it's been a long time since the Jets played in consecutive games under the AFC, after the 2009 and 2010 seasons. Since then, they have won eight, six, eight, four, ten , five, five and four games. So their fans desperately want some hope.
Obviously, the new uniforms will not be enough on their own. But the Jets – with the arrival of Gase and that of Darnold in the second year – are clearly trying to move to a new era. And at least for this off season, these uniforms are a small step in that direction.

The Jets spent a lot of freemasons, acquiring running back Le'Veon Bell and linebacker C.J. Mosley, among others. They also have the third overall pick in the NFL 2019 draft later this month. This is a critical moment for Executive Director Mike Maccagnan, who has not done enough to build staff over the past four years. He is on thin ice in 2019.
If the Jets do not behave better than last season, Maccagnan will surely be unemployed. It will take some time before knowing what this team looks like, in terms of wins and losses. But at least for now, we know what the Jets will look like in their new helmets, jerseys and pants.
