A federal judge said on Tuesday that the Justice Department (DOJ) did not have to issue transcripts of conversations that the talks of his former adviser with National Security, Michael Flynn, had had with Russian officials after initially ordered the agency to make these transcripts public.

Judge Emmet Sullivan ordered the DOJ last month to publicly classify these transcripts, as well as the transcription of a voice message left to one of Flynn's lawyers by Trump's lawyer, John Dowd. .

Although the Department of Justice included Dowd's transcript in a court record last Friday, it did not provide any of Flynn's conversations with Russian officials, claiming that no other audio recording was considered part of of the conviction of Flynn.

"The government further states that it relies on no other record of a person to establish the guilt of the accused or to determine his sentence, and no other record is part of of the record of the sentencing, "said the court.

Sullivan, appointed by Clinton, said Tuesday that he would not continue his efforts to obtain these transcripts.

"After reviewing the government's proposals in response to these orders, the government is not required to file additional documents or information," Sullivan wrote.

Flynn scrutinized his contacts with the Russian authorities during Trump's transition and left the administration a month after taking office in early 2017.

He pleaded guilty in December 2017 to having lied to FBI agents about his conversations with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak.

Flynn also cooperated with Mueller's investigation on Russian electoral interference.
