New York Red Bull midfielder Kaku was sent off with a red card in the final moments of the Red Bulls 2-2 draw against Sporting Kansas City last night. The ventilator was reported to have a bloody face and would need medical attention.
According to Red Bull midfielder Daniel Royer, Kaku did not want to hit anyone. "[Kaku] "I really wanted to go to the board" in front of the front row of seats, Royer said, according to ESPN. Kaku, who seemed angry at a missed pass just before throwing the ball into the stands, missed the fire, hit the stand and unleashed a raging match on the sidelines. With the red card, Kaku will automatically miss the next match of the team, but his suspension will probably be longer for endangering a fan. This morning the Red Bull issued a statement on the incident:
"The New York Red Bulls organization does not tolerate the type of behavior displayed towards the end of Sunday night's game in Kansas City. All members of our organization must adhere to high standards of conduct. The issue will continue to be discussed internally and we will have no comment for the moment. "
The fan, at least, seemed to be going well after the match.
