The Kepler twins break their track 0 to 21 with 3 circuits

CLEVELAND – Minnesota's Max Kepler scored three times against the Cleveland Indians on Thursday night after being engaged in the game in a 0-21 loss.

Kepler played in the first, third and seventh innings against Indian starter Trevor Bauer. Kepler walked between the fifth and the ninth – when he was lucky enough to become the 19th player to score four goals in one game – he managed to reach the left-handed midfielder of southpaw Gosh Smith.

Kepler said that the story was not in his thoughts.

"I thought about it for a second, but I came back and followed the same approach as all the other players, watch it and try to put the stick on it," Kepler said.

It was Kepler's second three-game match. The other one was also produced against the Indians on August 1, 2016 and Kepler acknowledged having had a brief comeback of this performance.

"The game is really unique, there are strange things like this and crazy situations that you can not really identify," he said. "But I am honored to be part of it, some days you do not see the ball very well, at other times you see it as a beach ball."

Kepler's come and go came on a change, fastball and slider.

"I had the impression that two of them were lands supposed to be in my favor," Bauer said. "Obviously, this was not the case."

Kepler joined the Hall of Fame, Ted Williams, as the only player to have played multiple home games against Cleveland. Williams did it in 1946 and 1957.

JD Martinez was the last player to hit four homers in a game when he did it with Arizona on Sept. 4, 2017. The last AL player to do it was Josh Hamilton for Texas on May 8, 2012 .

The Twins have had 10 three-game matches in their history, the latest as of Eddie Rosario on June 3, 2018.

No Minnesota player has ever dominated four times in a game.
