The most coveted Mardi Gras parade in Lafayette, the Carnivale Krewe in Rio, rolls!
The parade begins at 6:30 pm at Pontiac Point, where Simcoe and Surrey Streets join Jefferson Street in downtown Lafayette. Rio will then cross Lafayette and end at N College Drive, near the Cajundome. For a complete overview of the route, click here.
The great marshals of this year are the saints. Jesse Hernandez, a native of Mauritius, is one of the faithful of the parade.
The Rio Krewe is known for its large amount of throws and colorful costumes.
