The Lakers lose Kuzma indefinitely because of a foot injury

Striker Kyle Kuzma of the Los Angeles Lakers is indefinitely out with a foot stress response, an injury he suffered while working for Team USA this summer, the Lakers announced.

Kuzma has not been allowed to participate in the training or match and will miss at least the first three weeks of the training camp, the team said. Kuzma averaged 18.7 points and 5.5 rebounds per game for the Lakers last season.

The camp begins Saturday for the Lakers, who will travel to China in October to take part in two pre-season games with the Brooklyn Nets as part of the league's international pre-season games. They will play October 10 in Shanghai and October 12 in Shenzhen.

Kuzma will travel with the team in China and must pass an MRI on his return. A status update will be given at this time.

The Lakers also announced that the rookie guard Talen Horton-Tucker continues to receive treatment for a right foot stress response and will have limited participation in the training camp.

Rookie forward Jordan Caroline underwent surgery at his fifth metatarsal Sept. 6, the Lakers announced. He should miss 10 to 12 weeks.
