The Last of Us 2 will be released as PS5 launch title

In December 2018, a supposed European developer claiming to have worked on an AAA PS5 launch title had published an article about Pastebin, claiming to have leaked details of the PlayStation 5, which is now starting to attract attention. Eagle-Eyed fans have recently noticed the inclusion of The Last of Us 2 Remastered, which would have been released as the title for the launch of the PS5.

The usual red flags are there … Who is the source? Where did they get this information? Although we can not identify their antecedents, this leak seems highly dubious.

Before going further, we emphasize that the information seems rather far-fetched and that no official confirmation has yet been made via Sony. Please take the following with great skepticism.

According to the anonymous source, The Last of Us 2 Remastered will be released as a launching pad for PlayStation 5, in addition to a plethora of other games. Gran Turismo 7 and PUBG remastered, for example.

Although The Last of Us 2 has not been published yet, this apparent leak has raised some eyebrows. Of course, Naughty Dog has introduced a remastered version of The Last Of Us on PlayStation 4. However, downloadable content has also been added.

Although The Last of Us was remastered more than a year after the release of the original, it is likely that the source was simply referring to an improved version of the PS5.

Just to clarify, the release of The Last of Us 2 as the PS5 launch title does not necessarily mean that players will have to wait for the console to get their hands on the game. For the moment, everything seems to be going in the direction of the arrival of TLOU2 on PS4 later this year.
