PlayStation fans on PS4 and PS5 are terrified of Joel’s The Last of Us Part 2 without a beard. Last year, when Naughty Dog finally released the sequel to The last of us, it has made so much too much controversy. Or The last of us has been universally praised, The Last of Us Part II divided a lot. You wouldn’t be able to tell by its Metacritic score, but anyone on Twitter last summer when the PS4 game came out will know that it wasn’t just one of the most controversial games in the world. year, but of the generation, and maybe already. We won’t go into details, but just be aware that this involved Joel, the protagonist of the first game and a main character from the second.
Fast forward a year, and this time fans aren’t divided over Joel, but terrified of his beardless appearance. In the first game and the sequel, Joel wears a beard. And not just any old beard, but a nice beard. Without a beard, he looks like Harrison Ford, or perhaps an equally hairless Arthur Morgan.
Speaking to Reddit, a fan of the game shared a picture of what Joel would look like without a beard. And as you’d expect, the post garnered attention, garnering over 100 comments in the process, with the first comment highlighting the aforementioned comparison of Harrison Ford. Meanwhile, the next comment at the top points out that the image is clearly cursed, and pretty much every comment after that agrees.

While it’s unlikely we’ll ever see Naughty Dog’s beardless Joel, we wouldn’t be very surprised if a beardless Joel appears in the upcoming HBO TV series. That said – if this Reddit post is a barometer – if it does, it won’t turn out well.
