Bethesda's parent company filed the Redfall trademark in September of last year, which has sparked speculation about the long-awaited wait for The Elder Scrolls VI. Although this first revelation was exciting for Old scrolls Fans, a science fiction writer has a problem with the term "Redfall" belonging to the mega company.
Author Jay Falconer is taking steps to stop the use of this trademark by filing a counter-writing to the original application filed last year. It is important to note that the author seeks to terminate the application, not to sue the company for copyright infringement. Since we do not even know if Redfall is related to the upcoming game Elder Scrolls, and the fact that the game should not touch this generation, it would not be impossible for ZeniMax to change direction.
In response to a GamesRadar article on the brand and its potential impact on the release date of the next role-play, Falconer added:
@zoe_dels Your Redfall article. My lawyers have tried to contact a gaming company to offer them a simple license agreement allowing them to use my name Redfall. They always ignored me every time. Shame. I did not leave the choice. Everything could have been avoided. Just call my lawyers.

According to Falconer, he has already tried to work with the company on his name Redfall. Unfortunately, it seems that his attempts to reach out were ignored, leaving him "no choice" but to try to stop the application process.
Even if it is unfortunate that he had even had to clarify, nowadays – and with an article whose title suggests a delay due to the reason "X", it is quite possible that the author could have seen a massive backslash blaming him for lack of release while Bethesda was already very clear about the fact that the new game was still "far away" from being ready to be launched.
As regards the original mark filed, the code used to Redfall indicates that the game to which this reference refers is likely to be a single-player experience and is associated with products and services related to "game software for use with computers and video game consoles" .
The brand went through September 10 when it was first filed and fans immediately saw it as the sign of the next game and what could be in store.
