Tim Burton has largely built his career by making movies on the outcasts of society, and he will return with the story of another ruled out later this month to Dumbo, his second live remake of a Walt Disney animation film. I know I do not seem excited about this movie, but it was nice, and it's certainly better than the world of Beauty and the Beast and Mary Poppins Returns. For reference, the only Disney live action remakes I liked are Jungle Book and Cinderella.

Viewed #Dumbo last week. Despite great graphics, a very entertaining performance by Michael Keaton and an adorable pachyderm, the movie never lets you worry about what's happening as the original. Human stories feel badly cooked and it really rains on the runway.

I did not know what to expect, but I can say that #Dumbo is an entertaining and heartwarming film that is well worth it. The cast is nice but the VFX Dumbo is so expressive that he steals the show every time he is on the screen.

#Dumbo the character is pretty cute. But unfortunately, although it sounds awesome, the film lacks sincerity and heart that have made the original animated a classic. Too much made, and the cast is extremely talented, she is a bit lost for characters and thin relationships like paper. -Mike M

The character Dumbo is an irresistible ball of tenderness. Whenever he's flying he's raising your spirit! Danny DeVito steals the show with a hilarious performance. Formula and melodramatic, but a better film than the live adaptations of Disney from last year.

Circus owner Max Medici (DeVito) asks former star Holt Farrier (Farrell) and his children Milly (Parker) and Joe (Hobbins) to care for a newborn elephant whose oversized ears make he laughed at the circus. But when they discover that Dumbo can fly, the circus makes an incredible comeback by attracting a persuasive entrepreneur, V.A. Vandevere (Keaton), who recruits the pachyderm for his latest larger-than-life entertainment project, Dreamland. Dumbo climbs to new heights alongside a charming and spectacular aerial artist, Colette Marchant (Green), until Holt learns that under his shiny lining, Dreamland conceals dark secrets.
Dumbo arrives in theaters on March 29, 2019.
