Today, Adobe viewed an Illustrator feature at the OFFF Barcelona creative conference, which allows users to extract color palettes from images and photographs. Users can then apply a palette to their artwork so that the application automatically colors them in one go, then makes individual adjustments from there.
The feature, called Color Transfer, could be particularly useful for artists who want to explore different color variations in their works. Users can play with the application of color palettes specific to vector artwork and inspire reference images and photographs from their libraries. Adobe often gives an overview of experimental features in development at conferences like Adobe MAX. All of its features do not necessarily go into product updates, but color transfer is a technology that I hope to roll out soon.
