Earlier today, it was reported that the Philadelphia Eagles are expected to trade quarterback Carson Wentz at any time, with the Chicago Bears and Indianapolis Colts being the two most likely destinations for him.
In that same ESPN report, a source said the Eagles are looking to get something along the lines of the two first-round picks the Lions received for trading Matthew Stafford to the Rams but the Monday morning quarterback. Albert Breer says that won’t happen and that Philly will have to take less than that.
The latest rumor going around is very bear specific and it comes from Natalie Egenolf, who works for NBC Sports Philadelphia and 97.5 The Philadelphia Fanatic, and she is saying that a deal between Wentz and Chicago is near and the Bears would send a first-round pick, quarterback Nick Foles and half-back Tarik Cohen to the Eagles for Wentz.
His initial report just mentioned a first, Foles, and an attacking player, so if it isn’t Cohen (more on that later), it could be another young offensive player from the Bears who is under contract for a few years of more.
The Colts are obviously still in the mix until something is agreed in principle, and longtime NFL reporter John Clayton makes it seem like they have the upper hand in a deal right now.
The next few days will be interesting. Can the Bears outbid the Colts for Carson Wentz? Something is going to happen in a trade.

But if the Bears offer a first-round pick, then I don’t see how the Colts could top that because, as a former NFL executive told me, Indianapolis general manager Chris Ballard “will never pay too much. expensive for any player in a market. “
