Last week, new reports surfaced claiming that Halo: Master Chief Collection would finally be available on PC. It's easy to get carried away with enthusiasm, but some of the evidence that is currently circulating is not as convincing as it initially seems.
The new stories circulating today use the Windows Store list of the Master Chief Collection as proof that the game is finally coming to PC. Under the Supported Platforms section, the Surface Hub is listed next to the Xbox One. Unfortunately, this is not new, it is an error on the Windows Store list for some time. It should also be noted that the Surface Hub is a Microsoft Windows 10 all-in-one PC for enterprise and collaborative teams. We do not know why this error was left there for so long, but I doubt it's a sneaky pretreatment for PC support.
The other piece of evidence circulating today is an old box art that mistakenly listed The Master Chief Collection for Xbox One and Windows 10. This art appeared in 2017 and quickly sparked a new set of rumors of Halo on PC "this has not materialized. 343 Industries then confirmed that it was an error.
None of this means there will be no Halo PC announcement this week. After all, the rumor this time came from a reputed source. However, the evidence cited by people today is not as convincing as it might seem at first glance. No legitimate leak has yet occurred. All we have to do is hang in and wait inside Xbox tomorrow night.
KitGuru says: Getting Halo on PC is one of my dreams and I'm really getting it ready for that to happen. Nevertheless, it is frustrating to see hopes come to light by evoking old topics of discussion that have not worked in the past. The MCC could arrive on PC but nothing is certain yet.
