The location of automatic Google removal and web history will be available soon

On Wednesday, Google announced that it would soon allow users to automatically delete old location information and saved web history for all users of Google services.

Currently, you must remember to visit Google and delete this information or disable it completely. However, if you turn off the location or web history, you may be hurt because Google may not know enough about you to recommend solutions that may be of interest to you.

That seems like a good way, because you can tell Google to phase out all the information beyond a certain age, either three or 18 months.

Here is an overview of what it looks like:

Google indicates that users will be able to choose how long the Web site or history will be automatically saved to Google's servers. You can choose to let Google store your information for three to eighteen months. Any version prior to this value will be automatically deleted from your Google Account.

Google said the feature will be rolled out in the next few weeks. You may not see it yet. But you can check the Activity Checks page of your Google Account to see if it is available. In this case, you will notice the new automatic removal option in the Web & App Activity and Location History sections.
