A computer problem caused long queues across the country for target customers on Saturday afternoon.

"We are aware that customers are currently unable to shop at Target stores," officials said in a statement. "Our teams are solving the problems and we apologize for this inconvenience and we will provide you with an update as soon as possible."

Target stores suffered a similar failure five years ago, while there was unauthorized access to its payment information system, reported the Dallas Morning News. Secure information was not in danger in this violation, said company officials at the time.
