An undersea earthquake with an initial magnitude of 6.3 struck the Oregon coast.

The US Geological Survey announced on Thursday that no tsunami was expected from the shaker, which occurred shortly after about 8 am to about 240 km from the earth.

It was at a depth of about 5.4 km (7 miles) under water.

No damage or injury has been reported.
