A 26-year-old man was arrested and suspected of having
under the influence of the drug Tuesday morning after sheriff's deputies found him trying to repair the tires of a van with gauze and bandage, announced authorities.

An "alert citizen" saw the man near Felipe Road and the Barbadanes at Mission Viejo around 6 am and called the authorities, said the Mission Viejo Police Services Team of the County Sheriff's Department. Orange County on Facebook.

The deputies noted that the two tires on the driver's side were dead and that
he was trying to repair them with gauze and bandages, the post added.

They arrested the man, whose identity was not revealed, suspected of being under the influence of drugs and took him to jail. Under California law, being under the influence of a controlled substance not prescribed by a doctor is illegal.

Investigators described the incident as "a new example of team work between our warning community and your deputies" and encouraged locals to continue reporting "suspicious activity".
