That doesn’t mean a full and utter slam to JJ Abrams, or even Rian Johnson. The two made it wonderful, different, exciting, provocative and successful Star wars full-fledged films. It is unusual that there seem to be two camps when it comes to the Sequel trilogy of Star wars movies, and people who liked Abrams’ work don’t like Johnson’s, and vice versa.
