The masked dancer, the equally strange and wonderful spin-off of The masked US singer, revealed the celebrity identity behind another of his competitors.
Following the unmasking of Bill Nye and Elizabeth Smart, yesterday’s episode (January 20) of The masked dancer finally answered the question of who is behind the cricket mask – and, again, one of the judges got it right.
After playing Montell Jordan This is how we do, Cricket’s time on the competition has come to an end, confirming Judge Paula Abdul’s suspicion that Cricket was none other than the singer-songwriter Brian McKnight.

Talk to Variety Regarding his time on the show, the 16-time Grammy-nominated artist admitted he was initially waiting for a call to participate in The masked singer.
“I’m sure I’m not the only unquote ‘celebrity’ sitting at home watching these shows go on, saying, ‘How come I didn’t get the call for this? Have people forgotten me? ‘
“So when you get the call you say to yourself, ‘Yeah I’ll do it The masked dancer! ‘”
As for her dance experience, McKnight revealed that her specialty has always been musical instruments. “I never thought dancing would be part of what I did, so I never focused on it,” he said.

“I sort of move on stage, I belittle myself a lot on stage. I sort of dance, but not really.”
Reflecting on the challenges of playing in a giant cricket outfit, he added, “Doing full dance moves with choreography was a daunting task for me.” We are not surprised.
The masked dancer continues Wednesday, Jan. 27 on FOX in the United States.
