The Master Chief Collection on PS4

According to a new report, Microsoft once studied the possibility of Halo: The Master Chief Collection on PS4, and can still be it. The report comes from former IGN PlayStation journalist Colin Moriarty, in a recent episode of Sacred Symbols: A PlayStation Podcast. According to Moriarty, Microsoft had already considered transferring the Master Chief game collection to PS4 a few years ago. It's unclear if Microsoft is still interested in this, but you assume that they would still be willing to play ball.

"I have it in good authority that Master Chief Collection was spoken on PS4 years ago. As if I had it under great authority, "said Moriarty speaking to Chris Ray Gunn, co-host.

Moriarty notes that he would not be surprised if he saw Xbox games coming on PS5 in the next few years, pointing out that he did not think that the Xbox brand was going anywhere, but that it was not going to happen. she would end up bringing her games everywhere. And a few years ago, that would have been a wild suggestion, but now, seeing the changes that Microsoft is making with Xbox, it's completely on the table. It is obvious that Microsoft thinks that the future of the game lies in the software / services and not in the hardware. Of course, this would weaken any reason for owning an Xbox over a PlayStation console, but money lost in hardware sales could easily be recovered from software sales.

Whatever it is, as always, take it with a grain of salt, as in any unofficial report. That said, Moriarty has proven to be a reliable source in the past, particularly with regard to scoops involving PlayStation, which he has been religiously covering at IGN for many years.

As mentioned above, Moriarty does not specify whether Microsoft is still interested in importing the game collection onto PlayStation consoles, but at least it looks like these discussions have occurred between Xbox and PlayStation. And something tells me that it will not be the last discussions between the two on the fact that the latter's games are on the old systems.
