The current Mercedes-Benz SL-Class has been in existence since 2013 and, with a new model expected in 2021, Stuttgart sends a grand message to its luxurious GT. In this case, we mean that literally and figuratively, with the 2020 SL Grand Edition. Mercedes considers this special model "particularly exclusive", available on the SL 450 and 550, primarily as a set of appearance. However, all Grand Edition Mercs vehicles will use a sport suspension that firms things up and drops the car a tad.
On the outside, the Grand Edition models receive exclusive 10-spoke AMG forged wheels that measure 19 inches at the front and 20 inches at the rear. These wheels are glossy black with polished faces to help spectators notice that this car has something different. Graphite gray is the only exterior color available in the United States. It is complemented by a chrome trim and matte silver on the front fascia for a unique look. The subtle insignia of the SL Grand Edition on the wings are the only other external clues to distinguish the special car from the peloton.

Inside, there is also a little more bling-bling. Brown pearl-brown leather and diamond-studded seats adorn the seats as well as the SL Grand Edition brand in the head restraints. The steering wheel also has a neat leather look, even though the handles feature perforated black Nappa leather.
Long productions for the SL class are not out of the ordinary. The R230 of the previous generation remained stuck for nine years and the fourth-generation R129 lasted 12 years.
