We are a little over a week away from what is easily the most anticipated announcement of the new car of the year, perhaps the last 20 years. We are talking about the Chevrolet Corvette C8, and yes, Motor1.com will be present with live images and a video of the first production "Vette with a motor in the center". However, an interesting video just surfaced on YouTube from a named account Street Speed 717 who claims to have a leaked image of the complete car. It appears at the 6:48 mark in the video; Here is a screenshot of this moment.
The big question now is whether this is the real deal. As you can see, the photo is very fuzzy and obviously falsified. In fact, the narrator of the video clearly states that he cut the car from its original background so that the location is not revealed. This is certainly what explains the sharp edges around the outside of the car and, apparently, additional work was done to hide the occupants because the windshield was also photographed. Rather than simply erasing the images behind the glass, a digital painting seems to have been used.

Our thoughts on this presumed photo? Well, we have no information about Street Speed 717, although presumably, this person buys a new C8 since the title of the video says as much. We have no information on the origin of this photo and we know that it has been falsified digitally. It seems strange that the image is terribly fuzzy. Yet there was apparently something clear enough in the windshield to justify the appearance of a layer of gray from a digital brush.
In addition, we spent a lot of time literally looking at hundreds of spy photos and renderings. We know that most of these camouflaged prototypes strategically placed fake body panels under the swirling film, and some of these bumps may be visible on the side of the car. Of course, we can not say for sure that this photo is so blurry – as fuzzy as some might say. Again, the apparent reflections on the finish have a curious realism.
We would like to know your opinion about this photo alleged leak of C8. Is this the real deal, or is it a fake? In any case, we will bring you closer to the mid-engine Corvette on July 18th, when it will be revealed to the whole world in California.
