Motorola, a Lenovo-owned company, today announced the Moto E6 Plus: a larger, less-capable version of the E6 that we saw earlier this year.

The E series is one of the most affordable of Motorola. Despite the addition of the "plus" brand to the Moto E6, this device is still close to the entry-level in terms of design, materials and specifications. Here is what you need to know.

Simple configuration

The Moto E6 Plus is built around a 6.1-inch screen with a drop-shaped notch. With HD + resolution and a 19.5: 9 aspect ratio, it gets Motorola's Max Vision designation with an 80% screen-to-screen ratio. Motorola does not say immediately whether it is an LCD or OLED, but we assume that the LCD is used.

People will be able to choose from four colors, including blue, cranberry, cherry and graphite. The plastic back panel can be removed and the 3000mAh battery underneath can be replaced if necessary.

The shape of the phone is smooth and simple. There is no IP rating, no headphone jack, and it relies on the outgoing micro-USB connector rather than on USB-C.

Low cost rooms

Rather than opt for Snapdragon power, the Moto E6 Plus relies on a MediaTek engine to keep it alive. The Helio P22, with eight 2.0 GHz cores, 2GB / 4GB RAM and 32GB / 64GB storage, keeps the phone in good shape.

You'll find support for LTE onboard, even if it's only in a handful of groups. This will limit how far the phone can access 4G to some extent. There is no NFC, but you will find an FM radio with GPS / GLONASS, Bluetooth 4.2 and Wi-Fi.

There is also a fingerprint reader on the back of the phone.

Motorola Moto E6 Plus Camera

Motorola has adopted a two-camera configuration on the Moto E6 Plus, a first for the E series according to the company. The main camera is equipped with a 13MP f / 2 sensor, along with a 2MP depth sensor. The owners of the phone can use this combination to capture bokeh shots or to dress portraits with effects.

An 8-megapixel selfie camera f / 2 adorns the front to capture these self-portraits. A screen flash can help when shooting in darker spaces, such as restaurants or clubs.

Make the point

A stock version of Android 9 Pie collects everything. The Moto E6 Plus offers a bloatware-free experience. In addition, it has been enhanced with Moto Actions tools from Motorola.

The Motorola Moto E6 Plus will be available throughout Latin America from September 5th at an approximate cost of 139 euros. It is expected to arrive in Europe later in September and in the Asia-Pacific region in the coming months. Motorola says that it is not expected to bring the Moto E6 Plus to North America.
