Man flying in jetpack spotted in Los Angeles skies again

A spokesman for the Federal Aviation Administration said a Boeing 747 pilot “said he saw an object that might have looked like a jetpack” around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. It was about 15 miles east of the airport and was flying at an altitude of about 5,000 feet.

Air traffic controllers alerted pilots in the region out of caution, the spokesperson said.

“SkyWest 3626, have you seen the UFO?” the air traffic controller asked in a transmission.

“We were looking but didn’t see Iron Man,” replied one pilot.

Several planes received the LAX approach warnings, but flight crews said they saw no one in a jetpack.

The mysterious jetpack man isn't the only person taking off in an unconventional way

This is not the first sighting of “Jetpack Man” near LAX.

In October, a China Airlines crew saw a person in a jetpack flying about 6,000 feet.

Two commercial airliners said they saw a person with a jetpack last August, including an American Airlines crew who said the person flew within 30 yards of them.

The FBI and the FAA are investigating the incidents.
