There are a lot of theories of fans flying right now before these last episodes of Game of thronesespecially after many long operations that proved true, such as Jon's true sonship and his claim to the throne. A mystery that reappeared last week concerns the spiral symbol of the white walker, this time a series of limbs with an undead child stuck in the middle, and the whole was set on fire by Berric's sword in the # 39, one of the most terrifying moments of the show. in a good time.
We have already seen this spiral symbol and one or two others. Many times, actually. The White Walkers have already made symbols out of bodies, and we saw the spiral in an important flashback, one where the children of the forest sacrificed a man during some sort of pagan ritual to a tree, a man who became a White Walker. The spiral pattern, made of stones, surrounded the tree.
But it is no longer necessary to theorize and we have arrived at a concrete answer to this question. I'm not just talking about a great fan idea that sounds right, I'm talking about the guy who wrote it first and who put the spiral on fire with a clear explanation of what it means. Here is Game of Thrones First writer Dave Hill speaking at the New York Post when asked the question:
"As we saw with Bran and the three-eyed raven, the spiral pattern was sacred to the children of the forest, who created the king of the night by sacrificing a captured man in a" spiral of stones ". The king of the night then adopted the symbol as a kind of blasphemy, as Satan with the cross on the reverse side. "

So that's all. The White Walkers use this symbol, and at least some others, as sacred icons stolen from the Forest Children, whom they hate, to dishonor them. I suppose you can go further and ask, "Well, what did the symbol mean for the children of the forest?" But I have the feeling that this mystery will go so far and that the identification of the spiral is a sacred symbol will be all the explanation we have.
In fact, I was surprised to see Hill explain it so simply, as to get answers to the outstanding questions from Game of thrones the casting or the team is almost impossible, so I think this may not be a super essential mystery to the story that the fans wanted. It's just the way the king of the night intimidates people and blasphemes the children he hates. And after that, I'm not sure we're going to extract a deeper meaning, and we do not really need it.

With five episodes remaining, we may not be seeing the spiral again. Otherwise, I suppose the scene was a very last performance of Night King with a murdered zombie child as part of the last show.
