The Nashville MLS extension team has revealed that it will keep the Nashville SC name and gold color for its new look that will carry the team into MLS.

This is the beginning of a new era for football in Nashville.

The Nashville Football Club was revealed Wednesday as the name of the Major League Soccer team during an unveiling at the Marathon Music Works.

The new Nashville SC branding includes new colors and a new blazon for the 2020 MLS season.

"This is another great moment for us on the road that led to the resolution of the problem and the adoption of MLS," said John Ingram, owner of Nashville. "It's been a little over two years and we've accomplished a lot and it's a great milestone."

Things have changed rapidly since the announcement in December 2017 that Nashville would form an MLS team.

Wednesday's mark was the culmination of Ingram's work, CEO Ian Ayre, and the rest of the hospitality desk.

Ayre revealed to a turbulent crowd of about 1,500 people the new logo design and coat of arms. The crowd chanted for Ingram and Ayre as anticipation built for revelation.

The Nashville Roadies, the team's support group, led the chants throughout the event.

The new Nashville SC badge has two official colors, "Acoustic Blue" and "Electric Gold", with the main part of the badge being gold and blue superimposed on the rest of the escutcheon. . Nashville SC is in blue with the new team monogram at the top of the ridge. The design of the logo was based on the sound and vibrations of the music.

The design of the USL team of the city was a mix of blue, gold and white.

"We wanted an authentic name and identity in the sport. He says exactly who we represent and who we are: Nashville Soccer Club, "Ayre said. "Our announcement is another step forward and we have many more to do, but it is important to start with a clear identity of who we are."

The team will play its home games in 2020 at the Nissan Stadium before the construction of a new stadium on the fairground in time to be used by 2021.

MLS Commissioner Don Garber was present for the revelation.

"We are so excited that this club has been able to do since the time we met John Ingram and his family and have started talking about Major League Soccer and bringing our league back to this big city," said Garber. "… We did a lot of things last year since we granted our team, and a lot of important events and many things we all do to make this team ready to be launched. Next year, then finally to their new stadium in 2021. "

The new brand will be on display at First Tennessee Park on Friday.

The Nashville SC USL team host the MLS NYCFC at an exhibition at 7pm. Friday before starting his season on March 9th.

"Without the support of the city, without the city being behind that, it will not happen," Ingram said. "… it's really a moment for everything Nashville, that's how I see it."
