The Nationals, who have had their streak against the New York Mets canceled due to positive COVID tests and contact tracing, are looking to start their season this Monday against the Braves with the sad news that they will be out of business. NINE (9 !!!!) players.
We think Max Scherzer will have the ball for the Nationals but it’s a very fluid situation and one that could change over the weekend.

An absolutely horrible way to start the season for the Washington Nationals who must now scramble to field a team that will differ significantly from their opening day lineup.
One clue of “good” news is that all players at the Nationals’ alternative site have tested negative.
Rizzo said of #Nationals “We’re just trying to get through those first two days of these intense testing days and see what our current roster looks like, and then we’ll definitely make several roster changes.” All players from another training site tested negative.

Drew Smyly is set to make his Atlanta Braves debut on Monday, but there’s still a lot to do, including whether the game will be played.
