The new Anker GaW USB-C 60W charger looks like the one we've been waiting for for a long time.

The first Anker gallium nitride (GaN) charger – the 30-watt PowerPort Atom PD 1 – was interesting, mainly because of its size, but it was less convenient because of its low power and unique USB port -C. The company's new GaN charger, aptly named PowerPort Atom PD 2, addresses most of these issues with a 60W power supply, a second USB-C port, and an improved design.

The changes are obvious just by looking at the Atom PD 2. When the Atom PD 1 looks like a beefier iPhone brick, the PD 2 is more compatible with one of Apple's MacBook Pro chargers. At 60W, it is also much more suitable for charging a MacBook Pro (or another USB-C laptop).

Unlike the charger provided by Apple, the Atom PD 2 offers two USB-C ports, instead of one. This may not seem like much, but given the universal nature of USB-C, it's the difference between traveling with a second charger for your phone / headset or not. In addition, Anker explains that the GaN design means that, despite the additional port, it remains the "smallest 60W USB-C Power Delivery charger on the market".

Like the first Atom PD 1, the new PD 2 charger supports the standard USB-C PD (the better), which means it should charge almost all USB-C devices at full speed, assuming that It is designed for 60W or less.
