Gallium Nitride (GaN) chargers have been coming on the market at a rapid pace since the launch of the first batch at the beginning of the year: we started with smaller sizes, 30W and 45W, before moving on to tiny bricks of 60W, and dual USB-C chargers smaller than traditional single-shot bricks. And now, the Baseus accessories company goes even further in this trend with a GaN-based charger with two USB-C ports and a USB-A port, but it's still small enough to fit in the palm of your hand, via Lab loader.
The new brick – the multi-port charger Baseus 65W 2C1A – is perhaps the most versatile GaN plug yet. The charger offers a maximum power of 65W: up to 65W with a single USB-C port, 45W and 18W split between the two USB-C ports or a USB-C port and a USB-A port, or 45W (split between the two USB-C ports as needed) and 18W to the USB-A port. It basically covers all your charging needs, while remaining compact. Instead of a traditional brick, it has a longer stick shape, which means that it will not block any of the neighboring bricks on a power strip, which is nice.
Unfortunately, the new Baseus charger is only planned for the moment in mainland China – but with the current pace of GaN chargers, it would not be too surprising that a similar brick (or even more loaded ports) appears in the United States. soon.
