The new Destiny menagerie is one of the coolest activities of the game so far

A new season launched in Destiny 2 Today, we have witnessed a new activity that ranks among the best achievements of the series: Menagerie, a glove of light puzzles and difficult encounters.

Like everything else in destiny, Menagerie is about shooting aliens, but it's not your average horde mode. It's more like a miniature raid, with a variety of interesting (and challenging) mechanisms designed for shooting at six enemies.

You unlock Menagerie by browsing the first chain of quests of the season of opulence, which lasts about an hour. (Start by talking to Mr. Broom Robot in the tower.) Along the way, you'll learn how to use the Chalice of Opulence, a new item that will allow you to customize the type of loot you get in the end of Menagerie. Using a new motto called Imperial, you can improve your chalice and link it to runes that will make you lose specific rewards – the Rune of Joy, for example, guarantees you a class item. Rune of Jubilation will get you a sniper rifle. Etc.

Once you have started the activity (which starts at the 690 power level, but you complete the aforementioned quest, you will get a set of 690 level equipment). You will begin to make your way through a series of thematic segments in the labyrinthine tunnels of Leviathan. warship, presented in a random order. The Hunted, a scary set of tunnels reminiscent of the old Crota's End raid, in which you have to capture lanterns and fight the accursed Thrall. There is The Gauntlet, which instructs you to fight the waves of Vex, then to cross as quickly as possible an obstacle course. My favorite is The Crystals, where you have to pick up Vex Orbs and use them to launch laser beams at enemy crystals and aliens.

By browsing each of these sections, you accumulate points and you gradually fill a meter. Once the counter is filled, you will be able to fight against a boss, then: a treasure.

Here is perhaps the most unusual part: you can not lose. There are no timers or party cloths. Whatever the difficulty of your team, you will always get the reward at the end. The only drawback is that if you do not win a lot of points in each segment, you will need a lot of time to finish the game. the totality. (I learned that the hard way on my first run!)

Overall, it's a fantastic mode. Season of Opulence still has a lot to discover – it has just been released, and people are already discovering intriguing new secrets that could be tied to the next expansion – but Menagerie is a very good reason to keep playing.
