The new horror film by James Wan interprets Annabelle Wallis – Variety

Annabelle Wallis, who recently participated in Roger Ailes' "The Loudest Voice" miniseries on SHOWTIME, was invited to play the lead role in James Wan's most secret horror project, according to sources Variety.

Wan tackles the film this fall before embarking on the preparation of the "Aquaman" sequel with Jason Momoa at the 2020 summit. Details of the plot are currently kept secret. Wan wrote the story with Ingrid Bisu, and he will produce under the banner Atomic Monster with Michael Clear. The details about the authors of the script are being developed.

The film, which has received the Independent California Film Rebate, is independently funded by Starlight Media and Midas Innovation, which will retain their distribution rights in China. New Line will take care of the remaining distribution.

Wallis had already worked with Wan on "Annabelle", a spin-off of "The Conjuring". This film was a huge success, surpassing 257 million USD worldwide with a budget of 6.5 million USD.

His other credits include Universal's "The Mummy" alongside Tom Cruise, Warner Bros.'s comedy "Tag". with Jeremy Renner, "King Arthur: The Legend of the Sword", "X-Men: First Class" and the British drama "Peaky Binders."

It is taken over by UTA, Untitled Entertainment and Jackoway Austen Tyerman Wertheimer Mandelbaum and Morris Bernstein Trattner & Klein.
