NASHVILLE – The Titans returned to the St. Thomas Sports Park training ground on Wednesday and began preparations for the first day of the season against the Cleveland Browns.

The Titans signed the Cairo Santos kicker Wednesday morning, and he was on the field in uniform – No.7 – later in the day.
In fact, Santos passed his first test. He was heckled by defensive lineman Jurrell Casey when the team scored goals in the trials, which did not bother him.
"He was able to earn the respect of his teammates, which is essential," Titan coach Mike Vrabel said of Santos. "Jurrell (Casey) tried it, told him shitty ways, and these are things I hope would happen and he responded very well."
Santos spent the off-season with the Buccaneers but was released last weekend. He scored 9 of 12 goals for scorers and 17 points out of 17 for Tampa Bay in seven games last season. He also played two games with the Rams, where he scored 5 of 6 goals and bonus points.
Santos said that he had received the Titans' call Monday night and had gone to town for a training session. The team placed Ryan Succop in the injured reserve on Wednesday.
"I am here only to kick every kick and I will worry about one game at a time to help the team win," Santos said. "If it's eight games, until (Ryan) comes back, or throughout the season, I'll just worry about one game at a time. My goal is to do all my kicks as long as I'm here. "
Santos has also played for the Chiefs and Bears during his career. In 62 games, he has scored 104 goals out of 125 (83.2%) career goals. Overall, Santos has a field goal percentage of 87.2% within 50 yards, while converting seven goals over 50 yards.
"I've been used to it in recent years," Santos said of his arrival on short notice. "I am a professional, I do business and I know what is expected of me."
