Microsoft announced a new Office application for Windows 10 devices last December. The new Office application replaces the original My Office application, providing an enhanced experience and bringing all of your Office files together in a central hub.
The new Office application is being rolled out for everyone via the Microsoft Store. It works even if you do not actually pay for Office, and even lets you use Office Online applications if the actual apps are not installed on your device. The application is itself a progressive web application based on Office.com.
And that means you get the same features as Office.com: you can access your Office applications, search for files, view recent, shared documents, and more. although this always seems to be happening, so it is possible that you do not have the new experience immediately.
