OnePlus has a new phone in preparation and its price will be lower than the current OnePlus 7 Pro. In an email interview with CNET, OnePlus founder and CEO, Pete Lau, confirmed that the next product was in preparation, adding that it would be more "affordable" than the current OnePlus 7 Pro's the company, which starts at $ 669. Although Lau does not go into specs details, he says that the new device will be launched "very soon" and will maintain the 90Hz display of the company's current high-end phone.

"OnePlus was the first in the industry to use a QHD + 90Hz AMOLED display with the ultrapremium OnePlus 7 Pro," Lau told CNET. "The extremely positive feedback has pushed us to integrate the highly acclaimed 90Hz premium line, which is expected to become the standard on flagship phones, so that more people can enjoy smooth scrolling."

The screen, which has a higher refresh rate than the 60Hz screens that we usually find on smartphones, allows a smoother experience, especially when scrolling websites or games, our OnePlus 7 Pro test found.

Lau would not confirm whether the processor feeding the new phone would be the same as the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 in the 7 Pro, although he hinted that the latter is similar.

"We design OnePlus devices to get the best fast and smooth experience on the market," said Lau. "The implementation of the best processors in the Qualcomm 800 series is an essential element to achieve this high-end performance."

Other unknowns include the full screen display with a contextual front camera like the 7 Pro or a similar notch to the OnePlus 7 model sold by the company internationally but not in the United States. Recent leaks have suggested that one new OnePlus 7T will keep a water-like notch like the regular 7 but will feature a redefined Snapdragon 855 Plus processor on the back and three cameras.

We do know, however, that the new OnePlus phone will be sold in the United States.
