The new Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has good news on the final DLC character

A new Super Smash Bros. Ultimate report has great news on the latest DLC character to come in the Nintendo Switch game and Nintendo Switch Lite. The report comes from a Nintendo insider, who also shared a disappointing update on The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 in the same report. According to the leaker, a new and appropriate Nintendo Direct is expected to drop in September after another Direct focused on indie games. To this end, the leaker claims that the Direct will mainly focus on Terror Metroid, but will also include the reveal of the finale Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC character. In other words, in just two months, Nintendo fans will find out who the last DLC character will be.

Unfortunately, that is all the report discloses. It is not known who the character of the DLC is or whether or not it will be released this year. The answer to the latter is that they almost certainly will. In fact, it wouldn’t be too surprising if the character was released on the game’s third anniversary in December. In the meantime, who knows what the answer to the premiere is. Rumors and “leaks” have thrown names like Master Chief, Sora, Crash Bandicoot, Waluigi, Doomslayer, Lloyd Irving, Ryu Hayabusa and many more to the point that it is almost impossible to speculate.

In the case of previous DLC characters, some of them leaked early while others came as a total surprise. In fact, there were so many rumors and leaks that Master Chief was going to be revealed at E3 only for Nintendo to come out of nowhere and reveal Kazuya Mishima.

For now, take this new report with a grain of salt. Not only is this all information for the unofficial variety, it is subject to change. At the time of publication, Nintendo has not addressed this report or said anything about the game’s latest DLC character and they will be revealed. That said, if any of these changes change, we’ll make sure to update the story accordingly.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is available via Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch Lite and soon Nintendo Switch OLED. For more coverage on the best-selling and critically acclaimed platform fighter – including all the latest news, all the latest rumors, and all the latest leaks – click here.
