The next big patch of World of Warcraft could save the battle of Azeroth

The seventh expansion of World of Warcraft is controversial. If you go to community sites like the Blizzard forums or the game's Reddit page, you may see a lot of grunts. Many players do not like the added features and the story derived from Battle for Azeroth.

The next major MMO patch, Rise of Azshara, is his best chance to change public opinion.

This will be the biggest addition to the game since the launch of Battle for Azeroth last August. Not only do we get the typical things expected, like a new raid and new quests, but Rize of Azshara adds a lot of extra stuff and works to rearrange some of the less popular Battle for Azeroth systems. The fix will be launched on the WoW test server next week.

Rise of Azshara adds two new zones. Nazjatar is home to the naga looking like a snake. It is an area surrounded by a waterfall that will include the raid of the eternal palace of Azshara. Mechagon is home to a group of robotic gnomes. He has a new "mega-dungeon" that will be twice as big as a normal WoW dungeon.

Most major fixes may add one area, but two are ambitious. Each zone also tinkers with traditional World of Warcraft quest systems. Nazjatar will ask you to recruit combat allies, non-player characters who can explore the area with you and can level up, and present special zone bosses that may have different abilities each time they appear. Mechagon will focus on construction and DIY, and you can use scrap metal to create new structures, objects and turrets that can impact the area.

Repair what is broken

Rise of Azshara is also reorganizing Battle for Azeroth's controversial Heart of Azeroth system. Players in this item were looking for abilities related to armor slots. If you have new equipment for this location, you may lose the abilities for which you have already worked. From now on, the capabilities will be directly linked to the heart of Azeroth. You will collect new items, called Titan Essence, that you can directly insert into the heart of Azeroth. These will unlock new active and passive capabilities.

The mounts also see a big change. Your character will have a new location of equipment. Objects placed in this location will give your hikes new abilities, such as the ability to walk on the water or activate a parachute if dropped from a great distance. This will allow you to use your favorite mount and give it the type of functionality you need.

Blizzard made a big deal on Warfronts when promoting Battle for Azeroth. This new game mode has a large team of players working to build a base and fight an army of computer controlled units. But the mode is painfully easy. It's almost impossible to lose. Rize of Azshara will present a heroic version of the Battle for Stromgarde Warfront, promising a much more stimulating experience.

The story will also continue with new quests based on Baine, the Tauren leader who recently challenged Horde warlord Sylvanas. The story of Battle for Azeroth has so far echoed that of another group, Mists of Pandaria, who had also seen an honorable Horde leader unleash a revolt against a mad warlord. It will be the battle for Azeroth to have the chance to stand out.

Rise of Azshara adds a lot. We will have to see if it can tip the wave of negativity that swept the WoW community.
