It's a whole bunch of flashy terms that do not mean much to the shoe consumer, but the bottom line is that the app will allow you to take a scan of your feet when you're about to buy a pair of kicking. Nike Fit will be an option next to the traditional size list, but the company is obviously promoting it as the perfect way to get the perfect fit.
"By using the camera on your smartphone, Nike Fit will scan your feet by collecting 13 data points mapping the morphology of your foot in seconds," says Nike. "This hyper accurate analysis of the size of your unique foot can then be stored in your NikePlus member profile and easily used for your future online and in-store purchases."
Your Nike Fit scan will be stored and can be viewed by the app at any time to guide you to your perfect pair of new shoes. Perhaps most interestingly, this new size system can change its size recommendation for you depending on the type of shoe you are looking for.
Nike says "different shoes have different performance goals," which means you'll probably want running shoes a little narrower than the sneakers you wear every day.
