The OnePlus 7 Pro DxOMark score should give Samsung and Huawei a break

Despite its unbeatable appeal, OnePlus has never been known for its excellent cameras. Well, maybe, but not great. And that's not because the company skimped on imaging sensors to keep prices low. More likely, he has not yet found the perfect combination of hardware and software to place him at the top. It seems to have finally changed with the OnePlus 7 Pro, at least based on the DxOMark scores.

After the Huawei P30 Pro and the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G, you might think there is no chance that someone like OnePlus will come closer. Again, the Xiaomi Mi 9 has also come closer for miracles to happen. And it just did it.

DxOMark gives the OnePlus 7 Pro the second highest score for a photo, even beating the Galaxy S10 5G. He praises the phone for its excellent exposure and details in all lighting conditions and is only lacking in the zoom service. After Huawei's 5x optical zoom, almost everyone (except OPPO) is not up to par in this department. With a video score of 98, he is ahead of Huawei, but comes in second behind Samsung, held back by a less than ideal stabilization even while walking.

Under the new DxOMark selfie tests, the OnePlus 7 Pro is slightly lowered but remains in the top 10. The shallow depth of field and lack of autofocus have cost him a few points. However, given that some phones with two front cameras are up to the job, it still deserves praise.

All this comes from a $ 700 phone, $ 670 if you aim for the lowest configuration. Although it is not cheap, it is $ 200 less than the top 2 of DxOMark. Needless to say, OnePlus could become the best Android phone this year.
